Custom-Fit Engine Heaters for Sprinter Van NCV3 with the 3.0L OM642 diesel


It was a cold morning in Minnesota well below zero. I waited for the glow plugs, and fired up my Sprinter. Will a cold Sprinter start below zero? Maybe. If it does it's not an enjoyable sound knowing there is lots of wear going on, and I'm filling my DPF with soot. This is why I developed an engine heater for the Sprinter van. Our kit is better than a traditional block heater since our kit circulates coolant, and besides a tradational block heater isn't available from Mercedes or anyone else. We've been in business 25+ years, and are excited to get into the Sprinter van world after acquiring a former FedEx Sprinter van of our own, and developing a block heater that actually works in the Sprinter. A physical pump is required to ensure a thorough warming of the engine, and a generic "circulation" / "convection type" heater or "thermo-syphon" type heater does not work, as many many DIY'rs have found out over the years. Those types of heaters do not physically pump the coolant, they rely on convection to flow coolant thereby only partially heating the Sprinter engine. Partially heating a Sprinter diesel engine can lead to a "No-start" condition. We tested all heater types available, and the only solution that works is our designed kit with an actual pump inside the heater unit to thoroughly heat the Sprinter engine.
